The last BOSS Plow I owned was a straight blade 8' mounted on a 1/2 ton 1989 Silverado. I sold the truck with the plow years ago and I know it is still pushing snow today. The technology and engineering of this new 8' Power-V XT plow and system is simply amazing. Mounted on my two year old 1/2 ton 2011 Silverado Z71. The dealer did a perfect job installing it and used a 2" lift kit that raised the front of the truck (frame) level. This I would recommend even without a plow rig installation. The Rapidtatch system and pistol grip controller are simply amazing. My wife and mother-in-law went together to buy me the system. Something about not wanting me to pop a gasket shoveling and snowblowing. I couldn't be happier. The BOSS Red hanging on my bright white Chevy is an awesome sight to behold. Some kid I don't even know told me that now that right there looks like a 'truck'. I couldn't be happier and proud to call BOSS SNOWPLOW neighbor. I am aware of the other plow products out there but to me there isn't even a choice. If you want a quality rig that will likely outlast you, go BOSS.

Yes -- I have a good friend that owns a snow removal business and he runs all BOSS products. Spreader, box plow, V- Plows and the works. He swears by the product line. BOSS makes good stuff, straight up. Good old fashioned American know-how and work ethic.

Have used several other brands of plows over a 25 year history of plowing commercially and NONE compare, you just can not beat the strength and reliability of the BOSS V style blades. The V blades will cut down into the ice and packed snow, provided you have your shoes set correctly. They have been through severe ice storms and blizzards. I still have and continue to use my first 8'2" BOSS V blade from back in the early 90's. Have repainted them several times and always clean the salt off. Have replaced weather checked hoses and a few cylinders. Knock on wood we have not had to replace any motors or major components.

Yes -- In a nutshell, the BOSS Power-V is a tough piece of equipment you will be proud to own and rely on.

Best product on the market. I love how you can interchange between blades and vehicles. This is perfect for anyone in business with a fleet of trucks. If one goes down you can move on to the next. I also love the smart hitch system. The blade comes off the truck in under 30 seconds. Also love the speed of these blades. Next year I am hoping to purchase a DXT to make my fleet complete. Thank again for making an outstanding product that makes my business money each and every day!

Great design. Easy on/off. Very quick hydraulics. Stacks snow well. I gave it a 4 and not 5 because of the 8' 2" size. Why not 8' 6"? I'm sure there is a reason.....just seems a little different. I think the extra 4 inches would be nice.

Yes -- Your product seems very well made, easy to operate, and I have GREAT dealer support in Cedarburg WI. The dealer support is what convinced me to try your product. I always ran another brand, but gave you a shot based on them. I'm glad I did. Very happy so far.

This was my first V plow. I knew it would be faster than a straight blade, but I didn't know how fast... The inverted V is a no brainer for carrying snow to the pile or stacking. I soon found when rowing a lot you can angle one blade all the way to keep the snow going in the direction you want, but when the other blade is kept straight or a little angle it moves more snow to the pile or end. With a straight blade angled it just moves most of the snow over and carries little to the end. A LOT FASTER with a V plow.

I love this plow!! I bought it new in 2009 and use it to plow large commercial parking lots. This plow never fails to work and will take any abuse you throw at it. I am sold on the BOSS products because if my plow can withstand the abuse I throw at it, I have no doubt the rest of the products will do the same. Also I want to mention the construction of the plow, when comparing to others you can tell this is made for the everyday non-stop abuse.

This is my 2nd Boss plow and my 2nd season with a V-XT. Great plow, very versatile and easy to use. I bought this plow after having problems plowing several long, narrow and steep driveways two years ago in 2+ ft of heavy, wet, drifted snow. This year's blizzard proved I made a good choice. 2+ ft of same type of snow, not one problem. The V-XT pushed through even heavy drifts with my truck in 1st or 2nd gear at just about 1500 RPM. Saved me hours on my route. I couldn't be happier. Thanks for building a great product here in the USA!

I would just like to see the hydraulics speed increase a little, and would like to see a trip edge on the cutting edge, but you Boss people are already on the top of things. But I still would like to see the hydraulic speed increase.

Yes -- I would consider buying another BOSS because now there is the trip edge design on your V plows. I have 3 other plows from the same manufacturer that had the trip edge design before BOSS and that is why I chose that brand of plow. But they have a problem with an area that seems to wear out quickly and is not an easy fix, and it has put a sour taste in my mouth. I am looking at your new DXT poly or stainless plow for my 2013 Chevy 3500HD pickup. Also if it is possible to have a return cushion shock on the V moldboard trip to cushion it on return, instead of slamming back, even though it has a trip edge. As the years go on I have been switching all my plows over to V plows as needed.

The plow is down right amazing. It cut though a 4-5 wall of packed snow like a hot knife though butter, the quickness of the controls is awesome, there is basically no delay, and the fact that is is no chains, and when you go over bumps or rail road crossings the plow does not bounce.

I have 24 consecutive years in commercial snow removal, the last 2 years have been with the Boss plow. My overall experience has been above and beyond my past experience with other snow plow brands, an impressive and lucrative experience. The best part of it all, is the piece of mind that I don't have to worry about my plow freezing up or failing me when I need it the most. If I wanted to be super critical…I would like to see stainless steel as an option, also some improvement on the return springs because they do break occassionally (quick & easy to change…but it doesn't stop me from working).

Yes -- My overall experience w/ Boss snowplows is second to none, as long as it remains the winner…I have no reason to look back at anything else. Something tells me Boss will always be in the spotlight.

Reasons I can't give it 5 stars: A little under-powered at times when angling while pushing and when stacking real wet & heavy cement ... which is often for me. After multiple attempts to fix from brand new (still under warranty) the lift cylinder seal(s) still "howls/screaches" when lifting in scoop ... worst when struggling to lift/stack heavy snow but also makes the noise empty. Constantly coating the lift cylinder with grease does eliminate this noise. Also frustrating that the moldboard(s) flops over far too easily when stacking in scoop mode ... and I do have the trip springs set a little tighter than "recommended". The 9'2" just carries/holds too much snow to have same components as the smaller plows ... imho. The chainless lift has its obvious benefits (which I appreciate considering some of the badly heaved back roads I travel) but the blade does not float/drop far enough to stay on the ground and catch all the snow over slightly abrupt elevation changes ... leaving behind a mess that cannot be cleaned up going either direction. I have quite a few areas like this on my route and it really is a big deal. I even looked into a custom telescopic type cylinder (only really need to drop another 2 or 3 inches) to solve this but a one-off cylinder was insanely expensive ... though do-able. Also be nice to get the tips of wings a little higher of the ground when transporting in v position. The trip springs are wearing into the bottom of pump housing (moldboard raised fully) ... which of course is not ideal and causes rust and needless wear. Similar to the trip springs rubbing on each other (which you guys made me a new yoke to correct and has worked well btw!). It's July so that's about all I can think of right now as far as deficiencies. I ran a number of Curtis 8-1/2' straight blades for 12 years basically trouble free and this is my first Boss VXT so there was a bit of a learning curve ... all in all I love this new plow aside from the few "hinderances" mentioned. We get some deep heavy snowfalls at times and I no longer worry about punching through it. Hanging this VXT on the front of my Dodge CTD has turned it into a tank ... literally. It would take pages to write about the things I really like about this VXT ... suffice to say ... great job to date and keep it coming. At this point, you're not going to see anything but a 9'2" Boss VXT Poly hangin' off the front of my truck.

Yes -- Short answer ... nothing else out there at this time even compares to the VXT. Weight was obviously a big concern for me when buying a 9'2" V plow ... Boss hands down. I actually had already pre-purchased the new Meyer Super V but the ground clearance was unacceptable and it was far too heavy ... much heavier than I was lead to believe when I made the decision. I initially went with the Meyer because of dual acting cylinders and trip edge ... compared to the Boss system? ... I guess they both have good & bad points. The Smart Locks work great for back-dragging ... although at first I did miss being able to angle the blade during this operation. Not a real big deal after learning to deal with it. Simplicity is important also. And I was surprised at how well the blade trips in both scoop & v position ... this was a big concern but I've had no problems with the full moldboard trip action used by Boss so far . Only drawback is, again, the moldboards flopping over rather easily when stacking the heavy stuff in scoop ... worst in tight areas as opposed to parking lots where you can roll into the piles with a little speed and motion ... if you know what I mean.
